The
Accounting Advocates are accounting majors who assist KSU's Accounting
Department to recruit top students. To become an Advocate, students must
have junior standing with at least a 3.0 gpa, complete an application,
and be interviewed by past Accounting Advocates and members of the accounting
faculty.
Accounting Advocates are responsible for hosting two Accounting Career
Conferences during the year. The first conference is for high school teachers
and counselors and is designed to help them get a better understanding
of the opportunities the accounting profession has to offer. The second
conference is for high school juniors and seniors and focuses on encouraging
top students to consider accounting as a career. The Advocates are also
responsible for making presentations to college and high school students
whenever the opportunity arises.
