Continuing Students Student Services is here to serve YOU! Our goal is to assist you reach your maximum academic and career potential through sound advising and aggressive retention programs. We are also good resources for additional campus service referrals. When you enter your degree track, you are also assigned a faculty mentor. The faculty mentor is an excellent resource for assistance in decision making regarding internship opportunities, career plans and objectives, and professional development. We use a team approach when we visit with our students, which means we are not here to make decisions for you, but rather discuss the different options available to you and provide good guidance. We usually recommend that you come in and see your advisor at least once a semester to discuss classes and progress toward completing your degree. Since our office serves more than 2500 students, it is important that you plan ahead and make your appointment for pre-enrollment advising early each semester. We always send out a pre-enrollment e-mail in September and February for spring and summer/fall semester respectively with detailed instructions for pre-enrollment advising In order to stay informed about policies and news within the CBA, it is imperative that you frequently check your assigned K-State e-mail account. If you choose to use a different e-mail account, its your responsibility to have all your e-mails forwarded to the desired account. For more information, consult the Infotech Help Desk in 313 Hale Library or visit computing and network services (CNS) WebPages at http://www.ksu.edu/cns/. Also, keep in mind that we DO NOT advise via email. You need to come in and see your advisor for pre-enrollment advising or sign a waiver at the front desk in 107 Calvin Hall and we will clear you to enroll. If you have a general question regarding policy and procedure, emails to your advisor is acceptable. If several issues need to be addressed, then an appointment should be scheduled through Student Services at 532-6180.
