University General Education Requirements
(UGE)
The University General Education program is intended to help you widen your perspectives and explore the relationships among various subjects. UGE coursework stresses critical thinking, communication skills, intellectual curiosity, and the acquisition of a broad range of knowledge.
The College of Business Administration requires 18 credit hours to fulfill the University General Education requirements. These 18 credit hours may overlap with the business general studies requirements in communication electives, humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. At least one third (6 credit hours) of the 18 credit hours must be 300 level or above. Student may choose up to 3 credit hours of approved upper division UGE course in their major field of study. Students must choose courses from at least three different categories:

If you transfer credit from accredited institutions, you are required to complete UGE according to the scale below:

If you completed college coursework prior to fall 1997, you are exempt from UGE requirements.
Each transfer student is required to complete a minimum of six credit hours of KSU upper division University General Education courses (300 and above) as specified in the program in which they will graduate.
Policy for Study Abroad
Students who participate in study abroad programs approved by Kansas State University will meet upper division UGE requirements upon completion of either KSU study abroad coursework or transfer study abroad course credit accepted by KSU.
